Lewis Capaldi played to a sell-out crowd at the Barrowland Ballroom and enjoyed a night of sing-along hits and a fair amount of good old fashioned banter.
Lewis was supported by Nina Nesbitt. She is a Scottish singer-songwriter who was the perfect choice to open the show. Nina played some songs from her chart-topping album and some new songs that we are yet to hear in the February album. Nina set the tone with the crowd, getting them to sing along.
Lewis “graced” the stage minutes after 9 pm opening the show with the song Grace. Lewis played one of the best shows of his career, he played to a sold-out crowd of more than 2000 people at the historic Barrowlands. There are so many different fans, the fans that had been there from the start of his journey to fans that had recently become a fan of the chart-topping success. Fresh off this tour with Sam Smith, Lewis has clearly grown in his stage presence, he knows how to interact with the crowd in order to really get a crowd going. He had strong banter and is getting visibly more confident since his ABC show earlier in the year.
Lewis is not only a great singer he knows exactly how to talk to a crowd, he has phenomenal banter maybe that’s just because he is Scottish plying in Scotland but it certainly helps break the awkward talks singers usually have between songs. He played songs like tough he played songs make someone you love from his new EP call breach. Lewis played all of the songs that he has out, and he only has six of them which is again, crazy the fact that he is able to sell it out two nights at one of the most historic prestigious venues in Glasgow.
He will continue to grow and without a doubt, he will be playing arena shows within the next five years. He played new songs that we have yet to see released and the crowd absolutely loved that all the songs he sang as they began to sing along
Lewis has previously said that he owes this success to Bruises as the track racked up more than ten million streams in the first ten weeks. You could tell that Lewis was mind blown to be playing a venue that he had watched so many of his favorite bands grace the stage.
Lewis closed the show with Tough and Bruises, during Tough an explosion of confetti hit the crowd and sent the crowd wild. Lewis played one of the best shows I have seen at the Barrowlands. Vocals were strong, the banter was strong, what more could you ask for?
