The latest announcement for Reading and Leeds Festival 2017 is out, with Kasabian announced as the second headliners for this year.

The Leicester band join Muse at the head of the schedule, and it’s set to be their only UK festival appearance of the year.

The latest heavyweight names to be revealed also include fellow bands Two Door Cinema Club and Circa Waves.

Two Door Cinema Club revealed their delight to be back, adding: “Good to see so many guitar bands on the bill this year as well.”

There’s also a spot from legendary DJ Fatboy Slim the year before the 20th anniversary of his seminal album You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby.

Rat Boy returns having graced the festival’s stages in recent years, while the heavier side of the Reading and Leeds schedule is represented by Jimmy Eat World and The Amity Affliction.

Grime star Wiley and Australian producer Flume complete the new additions.

Reading and Leeds Festival take place concurrently on the bank holiday weekend of 25-27 August, sharing their lineups.

Although Reading is most widely televised, both festivals are generally mirror images, and Leeds is the north of England’s biggest and most iconic festival.
