The first bands have been announced for Bestival 2017, including three headliners.

Bestival takes place on the mainland in Dorset this year, relocating from the Isle of Wight to Lulworth Castle.

The first festival at its new home will feature The xx as a marquee headliner, along with Pet Shop Boys and A Tribe Called Quest.

The vast announcement includes many cross-genre bands, from the alternative rock of Circa Waves to the electronic sounds of Justice.

Dizzee RascalLittle DragonRag’n’Bone Man and Jamie T stand out as highlights from the lineup so far.

Laura Mvula and DJ Shadow are also scheduled to perform.

Bestival is the final major UK festival of the year, taking place from 7-10 September when the dust has settled elsewhere.

Previously an iconic but perhaps difficult to get to event, its new home – the same as little sister Camp Bestival – makes it a far more appetising proposition in 2017.

Last year’s festival was famously headlined by The Cure.

Tickets for 2017 are available now, priced at £150 for adults as a temporary offer.
