Reading and Leeds enhance lineup with over 90 more bands

Liam Gallagher and PVRIS are the marquee additions for the final weekend of August

Liam Gallagher is the marquee addition to the Reading and Leeds lineup today

There’s massive news for Reading and Leeds Festival fans today, as over 90 bands are added to enhance this year’s hectic lineup.

Headliners Muse, Kasabian and Eminem have all previously been confirmed, yet today tops those announcements for the sheer wealth of new artists and additions across the stages.

Former Oasis frontman turned lone star Liam Gallagher is the marquee name, joining the main stage along with PVRIS, the latter returning ahead of a new album.

Elsewhere highlights include BlaenavonBlack HoneyMarika HackmanThe Orwells and Japandroids.

There’s also a main stage return for Judas following last year’s cameo, and from the world of pop, chart star Anne-Marie.

Reading and Leeds takes place concurrently, as always, across the weekend of 25-27 August.

Most of the bands announced today will play both – Barns Courtney and DJ Semtex are set only for Reading – and although Reading is more widely televised there’s little difference between the two.

Other highlights from today’s announcement include one of FEISTY’s favourite breakthrough artists, Pumarosa, who head for a packed Festival Republic stage in 2017.

TigercubSløtface and Muncie Girls bring their varying brands of punk rock to the festivals, and alternative rock mainstays Breaking Benjamin and exciting Scottish pop-punks Vukovi are set for The Pit.

Tickets for Reading and Leeds Festival are on sale now, priced at £205 for the weekend with camping, similar to most other major festivals.

Day tickets are £65 – Saturday at Reading is a sell-out – and early entry is an additional £20.

More announcements are set to follow, notably the BBC Introducing stages.

The Jack Rocks 7 – seven up-and-coming bands heading to multiple festivals this summer in association with Jack Daniels – was also confirmed for Reading this week.
