The performances in England are ahead of the release of new album How Did We Get So Dark?
Royal Blood are back, and they’re set for four live dates in May ahead of the release of their new album.
How Did We Get So Dark? is out on 16 June, and the first taster – single Lights Out – suggests their second album will be another raucous rock affair.
Their tour ahead of the release will feature stops in Cambridge, Newcastle, Southampton and Leicester, on consecutive days from 17-20 May.
It’s the duo’s first headline shows since March 2015 and, announced just a month ahead of time, visits smaller venues than the band could likely have played.
That means it’s going to be relatively intimate, although venues like Newcastle’s O2 Academy and Southampton’s Guildhall still boast substantial capacities.
Royal Blood are also confirmed for Glastonbury in June, as well as a number of other major festivals around Europe.
We’d also expect a bigger tour, perhaps at arenas, to follow later on, especially as the band aren’t visiting London or hometown Brighton during the run.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday.
