Is new music from HAIM finally on the way this Thursday?

It looks like HAIM are finally set to release new music this coming Thursday.

The sisters, whose 2013 debut Days Are Gone feels a long time ago now, have released cryptic teasers pointing to 27 April as the date of some sort of big announcement.

Both brief videos feature the band – just Danielle in the first, Alana and Este too in the second – playing the drums.

The second video gives a time, too – 9am Eastern Time – which is 2pm in the UK.

That’s all we know, but bands rarely put together this sort of build unless it’s something big, and it’s been three-and-a-half years since their breakthrough release.

With the brilliant indie pop of The Wire, If I Could Change Your Mind and Falling among others, Days Are Gone was the breakout album of 2013.

Since then they’ve released a new version of My Song 5 featuring A$AP Ferg, but that was itself back in 2014, and guested for other artists.

That’s included a deeply commercial collaboration with Calvin Harris and work with the likes of M83, Bastille, Electric Guest and Primal Scream.

Fans are currently calling Haim’s new track One, although there’s no evidence that’s the official name just yet.

HAIM are also set to play at four UK festivals this year, including Glastonbury.

They’re also at Reading and Leeds in August, and head to Hull for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend at the end of May.
