The six dates are a result of the rapid sell-out of their current Academy-sized venue run
The Kooks have announced an arena tour later this year, following their recent run of sold-out dates around the UK.
The indie pop band have fresh popularity thanks to a new generation of fans, as large teen audiences attend their shows, despite their biggest hits being over a decade ago.
That’s kept them in-demand live, now elevating them to arena level for six dates in November and December.
The run starts on 23 November at Leeds’ First Direct Arena, closing with a capital performance at Wembley’s SSE Arena on 2 December.
There’s also dates in Nottingham, Cardiff and Blackpool, plus a hometown show on 25 November at the Brighton Centre.
The Kooks are currently concluding a run of performances at Academy-sized venues, which sold-out within days of going on sale.
They’re also releasing a greatest hits compilation – titled Best Of… So Far – on 19 May.
Although the band have remained active in releasing new material, their most familiar hits – Naïve and She Moves In Her Own Way – came from 2006 debut Inside In/Inside Out.
Their last original album, Listen, was released in 2014 and accompanied by a series of lively live shows, and the arena tour promises new material from a forthcoming album.
The Kooks are also performing at Isle of Wight Festival in June and TRNSMT Festival in July, as well as with Arcade Fire on European dates.
General sale tickets for the arena tour are available from 9am on Friday 12 May.
